Sad News 3/12/08
« on: December 03, 2008, 04:11:18 PM »
We were saddened yesterday to learn of the death of the RHS President, Peter Buckley.  He died early yesterday morning, peacefully after a short illness.

Peter Buckley has been a hugely dedicated and loyal President of the Society since 2006. He leaves a wife, Mary and two daughters. We send our condolences to Mary and the Family at this time.

Dear Maggie, I have sent a message to the family of Peter Buckley RHS President on behalf of SRGC. We pay tribute to him as indeed his contribution to horticulture in the widest sense was tremendous.  Ian the Christie kind.

It is never good to hear of someone dying after a "short illness".  The long ones are bad enough, but at least give the family some time to accept what is happening.  I do not know Peter or his family, but my thoughts go out to them at this time.  Best wishes.
Cheers.

I have been remiss in not posting news of the newly appointed successor to Peter Buckley sooner.
The new RHS President is Giles Coode-Adams. We wish him success and good health.
