Online talks
During the pandemic, some of our Local Groups are running meetings and talks online, others are holding physical meetings. Members and visitors are welcome at most events which give members a chance to get together and socalise.

Seed Exchange
We run a renowned annual Seed Exchange allowing members to obtain unusual and rare seed free of charge,

apart from a contribution towards postage costs.

Seed Labels
We have white and coloured plastic "stick-in" labels available for sale. These are ideal for seed trays and pots of seedlings.

"The Rock Garden" Journal

Our twice yearly Journal is one of the world's best publications for rock gardeners. It informs you on all aspects of rock gardening, propagation, rock garden construction, plant portraits and wild habitats. Written for both experts and beginners, it mirrors the wide range of our members' interests.

"International Rock Gardener" e-magazine

IRG is our free monthly e-magazine - an international celebration of plants in habitat and in gardens. Showcasing beautiful plants in nature and garden settings, with comments on cultivation.

weekly Bulb Log

A weekly fix of practical advice on growing bulbs from seed to maturity. Ian covers bulbs and companion plants grown by him and Maggi in the greenhouse and outside in their Aberdeenshire garden.

Annual General Meeting (online)
at 10am on Saturday 6 November 2021

Discussion Day - Saturday 9th Oct 2021

We held an online Discussion Day to replace the annual residential Discussion Weekend. Participants heard 3 excellent talks given online by experts in their areas, the USA, Europe and New Zealand.

Seed Exchange Good News!

We plan to run a normal Seed Exchange in January 2022. We are hopeful that we shall be able to send seeds to our members in EU countries. Please send your seed donations in as normal. (published Aug 2021)

2021 Dryas newsletters

and 2021 Yearbook

Members can now log in and download our latest January & July 2021 Dryas newsletters. Our 2021 Yearbook was published in July and all publications are available to logged-in members. (published July 2021)

2021 Autumn Show cancellations

We have cancelled our remaining 2021 physical Shows and Events due to uncertainties over safety and attendance during the pandemic. We shall reassess the situation in January. (published Aug 2021)

Shows and Events

We run many Flower Shows each year both competitive and non-competitive. Most take place from March through to the end of May. They are the best place to see many wonderful rock garden and alpine plants.

Web Forum

The SRGC Forum provides a place to meet online and bring together the international membership of the Club. Learn more about the plants that interest you, share photos, discuss plants, gardens, field trips, plants and even recipies!

Awards

The SRGC offers Exploration Awards to finance expeditions to study plants in their natural habitats. It also offers Training Awards from the Diana Aitchison Fund to aid aspiring young horticulturalists.

Event Calendar
The current pandemic means that our Shows are currently suspended, but talks and other events are taking place whilst restrictions last. Try attending one online!
